West Point Cadet Seminar

On Monday Nov. 23rd at Rochelle Park Post 170, 33 W. Passaic St. Rochelle Park 07662, the BCAL Organization for the 2nd year, will host a West Point Seminar starting at 7:30 PM. We will show a DVD to familiarize attendees with West Point and what is happening today and a cadet will discuss her training, branch selection, and concerns over deployment, etc.


The cadets is, Corporal Clare Shea of Allendale. She graduated from Northern Highlands high school and is now a sophomore (3rd class cadet) at West Point. Clare was an outstanding soccer player on Northern Highlands girls’ soccer team. She was recruited for soccer at West Point where she now plays as a starter in the All-Patriot League for the Academy. She is in the top ten percent of her class academically and wears the coveted stars on her uniform collar as a “Star Woman” who has received the Superintendent’s Award for Achievement. Clare is qualified on the M16 and M4 rifle. She is a team leader in charge of two plebes (freshmen cadets). Her major is Political Science and International Relations. She will talk and answer questions about the role of women cadets at West Point and in the Army as officers. She will discuss cadet life. She will discuss how her training at West Point will prepare her as a female officer on the world stage and in possible combat situations.


There will be a question and answer session afterwards.
